Gospel revolution draft

What is it?

Gospel Revolution is a ten week course created by PJ Smyth, former leader of GodFirst - a large Newfrontiers church in Johannesburg. The course looks in great depth at the gospel, and helps us to consider how we can build our lives and our church around it's plumbline. Gospel Revolution is being run across Bridge Church and City Church together.

We will run the course over ten mid-week evenings. For five of the weeks, we will gather together in various 'hubs' around the city to watch a video teaching by PJ. Then on the other weeks, we will meet together in our community groups to discuss what we've heard.

Gospel revolution with steps

Why do it?

The gospel - the good news of Jesus' salvation - is not just information that gets us saved. It is a way of life that should transform everything from our work, our relationships, our church and how we interact with the world around us. This course is a great way to dig back into the great truths of the gospel, and reevaluate how well the rest of our world aligns with it. Andy Cottingham has run this course previously and found it to have had a profound effect on people's lives and on the church. We are anticipating that it will help to set the tone for the kind of church that we want to see develop in Bristol.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What if I'm not in a Community Group?

Everyone is warmly invited to the video sessions at the local hubs, so please just come along. If you need to find a Community Group to join - either for the discussion sessions or more long term - have a look at the Community Groups Page on the website. All the leaders would be delighted to have you come and visit their groups.

What if I can't make the video session?

We have intentionally spread the hubs out across the week, which will hopefully mean that most people will be able to attend at least one of the hubs. It should also make it easier for both partners to attend a session if you have kids to look after at home. Please do feel very welcome to visit a hub that is not your 'local'.

Will I be able to catch up on the video sessions?

We strongly encourage everyone to get along to one of the hubs, as there will also be worship, prayer and a chance to connect with others. However we will be releasing the videos to view on line a few days after each session. Look out on the newsletter for details.
